Facilitate action

Democracy is not simply about talking. It is about discussion leading to decisions and action. An important part of the software required to facilitate this process is a direct and simple link that participants can follow to take action once a decision has been made.

# Motivation

It greatly increases motivation of all participants once the framing of the discussion is clearly perceived as leading to a concrete action.

This can be achieved by a simple link to an external application, or it can be seamlessly embedded in the interface.

In general it is better to provide this functionality through loose coupling, as taking action is a complex and independent domain. Integration can happen on the front end at a later stage.

What is important is to reduce the bureaucratic burden needed to take action. If a simple link is provided it should lead directly to a space customised for the group action relevant to the discussion and agreed upon decision.

# Local action Software that provides geo-location support is able to facilitate local action. many groups such as DIEM25, emphasise local face-to-face group formation and it is natural for such groups to prioritise taking action location.
