The platform should enable intuitive rich and constructive conversation and debate. This is more than traditional Forum software provides, or at least we need a modern flexible interface. Discuss is perhaps the minimal standard here.
We should also consider how such discussion relates to discussions that happen elsewhere. Embedding the polling into an existing discussion space is one such solution. Alternatively it may simply suffice to link to external location(s) where the discussion happens and keep the polling / voting functionality separate.
A key feature of rich discussion and debate is the ability to have face-to-face video or audio debate. integrating Democracy Café group discussions into the software would provide this - a simple link to create the group should work.
